Years ago Texas was the only state that did not have a state Income Tax...not sure if it still does. I would recommend any DARK RED state, ie., Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming.
Oh...and please...take me with you...I'm stuck here in liberal-labor-loving Michigan.

Actually, Florida hasn't had income tax for as long as I can remember.
I would say Texas is probably the best bet, especially given your occupation. But, be prepared, Texas is a bit of a cultural shock for most people, especially people that are coming for liberal hellholes like yourself. I understand that Austin is really nice, but is the hippy liberal bastion in Texas. A friend of mine lives in San Antonio and he loves it.

No we do not have an Income Tax and God willing never will.
As far as tech industry, it is hard to bet the triumvirs of DFW, Austin/San Antonio and Houston. Any of these areas will work out for you being in the Telco business.
