Down here President Bush had a double digit led in every poll for months but still this state is tricky (i.e., politically corrupt, its the Huey Long legacy) so we decided to work like we were behind by double digits. Our efforts not only gave the state to President Bush but we elected the first Republican U.S. Senator ever from Louisiana. David Vitter replaces the retiring John Breaux. With that victory we only have 2 non-Republican U.S. Senators in the entire south. Mary Landrieu from Louisiana and Bill Nelson from Florida. Hopefully, we can knock them off next time around.

Not quite. You're forgetting our Clinton cronies, Pryor and Lincoln.
