Oh my Libby ... that sounds like a very stressful job
I have a stupid question .. but don't they have a place/building where kids can stay for these kind of situations before a court hearing and then placed in foster care?

"I have a stupid question .. but don't they have a place/building where kids can stay for these kind of situations before a court hearing and then placed in foster care?" Nope. And we are desperate for foster homes as it is. We at least should have a kitchenette type apartment in the building that is separate from everything for those kind of situations. It is very unfair to the children, not to mention the workers, to be stuck in the office for hours, or even days, trying to find placements. That part of the job is just horrible, trying to take care of kids and get all the paper and computer work done at the same time being on the phone constantly trying to find some place to put them, and if they're older, they figure out pretty quickly that "nobody wants them."
