I had to laugh when I read this, Mo. My mother started the tradition of singing Twelve Days of Christmas during our Christmas Eve celebration. We each have a part and if not enough folks are there, we have two or three parts. But, it is always the oldest woman there who sings "five golden rings". And we always do it in a parody opera style, loud and awful.
Anyway, this year my granddaughter has decided that she wants the part to sing. She has been practicing and sings it very loudly and very off key...in the tradition. I have told her that it is impossible that she get the part until she is the oldest woman in the home on Christmas Eve, but she still keeps begging.
Oh well, I may let her sing with me since she is so insistent, but I am not ready to pass the torch just yet. LOL
