I sometimes think that bringing back some of these old public punishments would do a lot toward deterring crime. Killin' is almost too good for some of these vermin.

I remember my great grandmother talking about executions of convicted and sentenced criminals in Louisiana. She said that she went to one as a teenage girl. The man was seated on his own coffin before his freshly dug grave. He was then shot by three men. If more people, especially when young, actually viewed an execution, I think it would reduce crime.
Now, it takes twenty years to exhaust appeals and then close the actual execution to a few people.
