I was at the grocery this morning. Toys for Tots were collecting new and unwrapped toys in the parking lot. They were getting a great response. As I walked by, an older man pulled up in a full sized pick-up with the bed just loaded with toys...bicycles, stereos, scooters. I paused to watch the folks begin to unload his truck. When they begin thanking him he said "oh, I live alone and don't have a single person to shop for, either, so I just want to give to the kiddies". I came very close to asking him to my home for Christmas, but I didn't know how hubby would feel.

Great story. You should have asked him.

Cheers up there.

It really is amazing. I will leave to go deliver presents and come back and the conference room is full of toys and clothes again. It's been that way all week, and every worker's office is filled with toys. We had something like 50 Walmart $20 and $30 gift cards donated, too.

I have one 16 year old mom with a 7 month old. She lives with her mom and older sister and 2 dogs in a one room apartment. I took her over a few things for the baby last night. She said that was probably all they would get. I will probably take more.
