Girl students never got hit with a ruler, only boys. It was their saving grace to behave

I went to a co-op catholic school .. boys and girls and I don't remember the boys getting hit either

However, they would put the fear of God in you

In those days ... the worse thing that could happen is to have Sister Mary Ida call home telling mom how bad you were behaving
