When Dawn and Tyler get here, I'm renting movies. There is just almost nothing fit to watch on TV. The one network that I pretty much felt safe letting Tyler watch was Animal Planet, and I don't get it here because my cable company sucks so bad. We will be gone a lot of the time, too.
I am so sick of a political (read: liberal) theme running through virtually every program. Law and Order:SVU is the absolute worst. Sometimes the liberal themes get so nauseating, I have to turn it off. Last night, I watched The Twilight Zone amd Crocodile Dundee. I absolutely love that movie.
I forget how old Tyler is. We bought the set of "Horation Hornblower" series from, I think, the A & E. They're action/adventure, with no "language", no graphic sex (no sex at all, really). There is violence because of the battle scenes, but it's not the really graphic stuff you see in the R-rated movies. They're great stories and very entertaining. We can watch these when my Mom, sister and niece are watching. They are very sensitive to the content of a lot of the crap on television and movies, but the Horatio Hornblower episodes are very acceptable. Might be a little old for Tyler, though.
