Oh, but you can go to the White House and see it, too, if you really want to. Just contact your congressman or senator and ask them to arrange a visit for you. They stopped tours of the White House altogether after 9-11 for obvious reasons but about a yr or so later they gradually resumed but with limitations, again for obvious reasons.

I don't think it obscene or an abomination at all, quite the contrary, in fact. It pleases me to see that grand and historic house continue the gracious traditions that have evolved over the years and that so many of us have been delighted to see and enjoy. :)
