We had a very large group for a seated Thanksgiving dinner at my sister's house. Afterwards all the serving dishes were still on the buffet table, just in case. LOL When the crowd thinned out a bit, someone let my sister's 2 dogs back inside. Pretty soon, I noticed one of them, the most adorable little fellow you've ever seen, a "rescued" mixed breed, walking around the table, sniffing and eyeing the leftover turkey. The next time I looked in that direction, he was tiptoeing on his hind feet with his little front paws barely touching the table's edge, still focused on the turkey. I scolded him and made him get down, so, then, he just sat there looking at the table and back at me, wiggling and moaning. LOL. About a minute later I heard everyone in the sunroom laughing... that little rascal had snatched a turkey leg from the platter and made a dash for it. LOL He was toooo cute and mighty proud of himself and his trophy.

A bad habit to let them get into though. I had a chocolate standard poodle once. He was a wonderful dog. However, like all dogs, he had to be trained NOT to exhibit certain natural behaviors....like stealing our supper off the counter (a roast I had taken out of the oven and left to cool). I went upstairs for a few minutes and came back to discover he'd had a nice fest for himself. Before that, I'd never seen him put his front paws on the counter. I don't think he ever did again either. Let's just say he knew he was in deep doo doo. LOL!
