My firewall and AV are always enabled on my task bar.

So are mine, and they take zero resources unless I am downloading something. If you will right click on the AV, one of your options is to run a scan of your hard disk. That is very resource intensive, but only needs to be done once, at least until a virus slips in before Norton has an update to catch it.

Hi,,,catching up o things around these parts..Kids here for Turkey Day so been busy but got the Christmas cards mailed yesterday. Of course the shopping for gifts is not even started and we have to mail things...

Read the Norton news you have been discussing. I use the 2004 System works antivirus and the fire wall I have is a hard firewall not software. No virus problems ever and what has been really good..I use earthlink total access 2005 and it catches emails ( usually from senders I don't know and wouldn't open) that are sick with viuses and the notice is in red....great...

I notice my system slow down if the adware junk gets in so I just run my ad adware ( may be swithing to spybot) and remove it.

It has been sunny and warm here until today and not it is cold and rainy..hows by you, Nully? .38? Westy?

Yes..ok. I do all that. I do like Norton, especially Works, but it gets expensive when you only have it on the machines for six months.

I just put Grisoft and ZoneAlarm on the laptop. I don't even do mail on that, or software. Just FR and upload pics if I need it.
