Yep - that's why, except for the anti-virus which was already loaded here, Norton is only run from the CD.

I don't know why. I run the full Norton suite all the time and can't see any speedup when I shut it down. There is no need to keep the scan running all the time. Once the disk has been cleaned once, only the monitor on new downloads is needed.

We got rid of Norton Loddy. Our computer guy got us AVG. We had 132 viruses that Norton didn't even recognize. This AVG is absolutely awesome. It's apparently what most corporations use. Our computer guy went as far as to say "Norton is a virus"!! LOL I don't know about that but we have NEVER had a problem since. AVG stands for Anti Virus Guard. And it GUARDS!!
