I had to deal with it for years when I lived in the central Idaho mountains. I had to have a contract with a local who had a front end loader. When it snowed more than 6", he'd come out and clean out the driveway. Unfortunately, I was about last on his route, so several times I couldn't get my car out. That's where cross-country skis came in handy. Then, of course, I could count on the county snow plow to come along and fill in my driveway after the front-end loader had cleaned it out.
Six feet - wow! I'm always amazed by how cold Flagstaff gets - just four hours north of us. The icicles hanging from rooftops are six feet long. How's the weather in the Bay Area today?
