I don't know what kind of finish is on the cabinents - the friend who's going to refinish them for me said it looks like someone in the past slapped some verathane or something like on them rather than bother to clean them. The oak itself it fine - they will need to be stripped and refinished. It sure beats the cost of brand new cabinets. Whew!
Great news that you don't have to get new cabinets. So, I'm guessing the color is probably a natural oak then ?
