*nervously*
They're after me.
I know it.
All of them, every last grinning one of them.
*voice rising, paranoic*
But I'll get THEM first!
I swear it!
The lawn Gnomes will pay!
*Insane screaming laugh*
Hmm..
*eyes shift left and right*

"You like Deer Valley better than the others?"In general, yes, although I think it really depends on where you stay, length of stay, number of people in your party, etc. That whole area is very nice but I haven't been to The Canyons. However, I understand the lift lines move faster there. While all have some wonderful accomodations, if I'm staying in a house I tend to prefer Deer Valley, again depending on the location. For hotels it is really hard to beat the superb service at Stein Erikson Lodge which is actually in Park City, its also ski in/ski out. Also, Lodges at Deer Valley has a nice mix of cozy, well appointed hotel rooms and some nice condos but it isn't a ski in/ski out property. If you're staying longer than 3 or 4 nights, Park City has a nice variety of things to do when you need a breather from the slopes, they have a very good nightlife, too. Mind you, I'm not an especially good skier but I try hard. LOL. So the close proximity of other things to do is appealing to me. :) I suppose I'd get better if I tried more often but then how many ski instructors can one woman drive crazy in a lifetime ? FOFL... Besides, I don't really enjoy cold, snowy weather except in short doses. LOL

No, I'll behave.
Nothing much going on this side of things still.
The usual same old same old.

Gosh, I'm not sure how many there were. Quite a few. The one in the picture you asked about is 11, and actually, a lot of these kids have experiences far beyond their years. That is what is so sad. From day one, many of these children are exposed to things that they should be protected from: drugs, pornography, sexual experience. Many are abused or badly neglected. What is even sadder is that some of them will grow up to repeat the cycle. The best we can hope is to make a difference for some of them. Here's one of the group pictures. I hadn't posted them before because they weren't very good. It isn't all the kids, but it'll give you an idea how many there were. None of the real small ones are in it and some of them just couldn't stay still long enough to be in the pictures.

"She winds a length of fine wire around the top of a pinecone then coats the pinecone with peanut butter and then packs birdseed all around the cone. She says they love it." What a neat idea. I will have to try that. Surely there are some pine cones around here somewhere. I just don't happen to have any.
Yes, I have bluejays. They are such characters. I just got back from the store stocking up on birdseed (again), and picked up some raw peanuts. The Jays will often beat the squirrels to them.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the pendulum... Geez, there's only one moving part. How hard is that for a Techie with your aplomb?
A plumb, Bob?

Those awful people behind me finally moved out, the ones with the budding criminal kid. I'm convinced he is the one who tried to break in my house and who has vandalized several others. He's been arrested 3 times that I know of, at least one of them for breaking into people's homes. He's only about 11. The step-dad died, or committed suicide, in jail recently. The mom didn't miss a beat, just got her a new boyfriend and moved on. I hear they left the state. Can't get far enough away to suit me.

So there's no chance of being normal again?? As a part of this thread you have the nerve to ask that?

The crime prodigy is gone?
One prayer answered.
We have more than a few such crime prodigies here.
One can't seem to take the hint that my sis has no interest in him.

"One can't seem to take the hint that my sis has no interest in him." I should hope not. She is smarter than that about the company she keeps. She's smart enough to hang out here with us, isn't she? Hmmmm, maybe I'd better rethink that.
