Ya, Chuck lost a lot of credibility with me over this "Bible Codes" craze, I'm really suprized that he bought into that stuff, still, he has a great grasp of history and biblical knowledge.

You might want to review his articles on the subject. He believes in many Bible "codes" (and wrote a book discussing them), not just the ELS. I myself do believe in the ELS, but not the Ouija board fashion in which people who don't believe in the plain meaning of the Scriptures try to employ them to foretell the future.

In any case, that's never been a centerpiece of his ministry. He's always far more interested in the macro-codes (i.e. prophetic types, comparing Scripture to Scripture, etc.) than the ELS stuff.

You might check into the updated criteria on the Codes stuff.

The propaganda about the Codes is wholesale hogwash. The science is something else. And, there's plenty of solid science behind the solid Codes.

A lot of so called codes do NOT meet the updated criteria to qualify as a Code.

I still think the Codes will eventually have some startling things to reveal. I don't think it's God's timing, yet.
