Decorated Malls

Posted on 11/15/2004 12:04:05 PM PST by notalways

Is it just me or does anybody else feel like we've already had about 2 months of Christmas music/lights/decorations in every store in town? At this rate the valentines should be on the shelves in about 2 days.

Yup.

Fortunately, we observe Advent, have never had Santa Claus in our home and forgo the commercial innundation.

It's just a secular weekend since Happy Holidays means buy something and not the Incarnation of God.

The Christmas season should not start until the day after Thanksgiving (which is my favorite of the winter holidays -- lotsa eating involved).

Heck, I love Christmas! I just don't love it enough to deal with it for 25% of the year.

Just remember when told "Happy Holidays", ask 'which holiday are you referring?'

It's against the rules for me to tell you.

Usually, a newbie "lurks" for while, seeing how things work and learning the lingo.
Use our 'search' function to learn more about Vanity Post.

Happy Easter, in advance. Unless you don't like Easter, then I'm sorry.

Duh! Like you really thought we'd care about your personal Vanity on Christmas decorating?

Don't go away mad, just go away.

Seriously, hang around and see how things work if your feelings aren't hurt too bad.
