It was astounding yesterday to hear just how much $$ is donated to the PLO and how much $$ Arafat has put away while fully half his people live below the poverty line in hunger.

Zell Miller talking about how it's amazing that Kerry has spent his entire life planning to run for the presidency but didn't take five minutes to think about the south which now comprises over 50% of the Electoral College votes neeeded to win.

Zell also says that Maureen Dowd needs to keep writing her hate filled columns because it benefits the RNC.

Also said that no one would ever say the Jews are idiots for believing in their religion but for some reasons it's still okay to bash Christians.

Zell Miller is writing another book and wants to do some teaching and stay active. I'd love to see him in a cabinet position.

Here is some more explanation from the New York Times.

Even as they sought to put much of the blame of Mr. Kerry's loss on external events, Mr. Carville and Mr. Shrum acknowledged at least implicitly what had been a continuing criticism of Mr. Kerry, that he never presented an overarching view of what his presidency might be like. The two men suggested that the Democratic Party could become competitive only if it came up with what Mr. Greenberg described as a "narrative" that offered a clear choice to voters.

What cost Kerry the election is his lack of leadership qualities. Kerry has always tried to prove he had leadership qualities by painting a glowing picture of what he did in Nam. That is never the way real leaders prove they can lead. Real leaders walk into the spotlight, present their assessment of the situation. They list the nations problems. A leader then proceeds to lay out a plan for fixing the problems and states how he will implement that plan. To the extent they can, Leaders start implementing their vision.

Early on in my career I had the pleasure of working for men who did Radio Station turn arounds. They assumed management of stations doing poorly and turned them into stations that were doing quite well. The successful turn around artists just walked in and took charge. Employees and clients would learn of their previous success from others. They never felt the need to tell people they were successful leaders. They just lead.

They also never needed to trash the previous management. Leaders never waste time blaming others for the problems faced. They just enumerate the problems and explain the fixes.

Over and over Kerry tried to prove to voters that he was a leader by claiming to be a leader. It did not work. It never works.

One of my best friends was a manufacturing firm turn around artist. I once asked him what methods he used to take charge and earn the respect of those who worked in the companies he was hired to turn around.

He told me to think of it this way. If one is a great basketball player one does not prove it by telling people about how well you have played in the past. You just walk out on the court and shoot the eyes out of the basket ... then put on a ball handling exhibition. People will get the idea that you are a very good ball player.

Kerry tried to tell us he could play. He never demonstrated his ability, he just talked about when he was a leader and what Bush was doing wrong.

Bush on the other hand is not a great talker. He just walked out on the court and shot some baskets. Playing, not talking about playing is what elected Bush and defeated Kerry.
