Spring carries in a new romance
with elder berries and mints too
with tulips covered all in dew
I love the best when there is you
Ah, a summer love, is it best
to reach full bloom and hold
it close to the vest or
will it burn out like a star
and leave one wondering where you are.
A Summer wind blows warm 'tis true
clothing lite and colored blue
and picnics held by a brook or two
with fireflies dancing in the dusk
and a full moon turning to rust
Shall we share the autumn weather?
There we, together, sword and feather,
kick through the leaves on the trail,
press our hands upon fence rail,
watching horses gambole in the meadow,
smell the pumpkin pie cooling by the window,
parties, dinners, gladness reigns
and only the gardner, raking leaves, complains,
Each season knows it's love
as moon and star shine up above.
