#165...I've done that with clear glass dishes as well.
...Crystalique...(or something like that) are delicate glass dishes, bowls, etc.....and the best part they are cheap.
..but add a colorful tablecloth or placemats and napkins, candles, flowers....very festive.

#164...WOW...HAVE FUN! :)

All I want for Christmas is a Tread-Climber...(but I don't think I will get it)...:(
...the next best thing would be a boxed set of PBS Jewel in the Crown...series...(that, I might get)

Kohl's have some very inexpensive dishes in all colors. I just bought some new one, in all different colors. I don't like things to match, 4 dishes are the same, and I've picked up the various colors in the rest. No cups though..

Were you in SAC? God bless and rest General Curtis LeMay, W6EZV. That's all I remember about SAC. The commanding General was a Ham Radio Operator.
I checked my log books. I never worked General LeMay, but I did work Jordan's King Hussein, callsign JY1.
Barry Goldwater was operator K7UGA.
Even with the cold war going on, that was a wonderful time to be a geeky teen-ager. All of the cool guys were Ham Radio Operators.

Yee gads john, you are a man of many talents. Yes, I remember Gen Le May. Never met him, but heard a lot of stories about him. He even shut SAC down one time cause the administration, then, wouldn't let him have the fuel he needed.

The men at my house don't really appreciate a pretty table. The DIL's shudder when I get my good things out. Therefore I bought a set of plain white Corelle which I use all the time for EVERYTHING. The girls are much more comfortable with it.

Just a geeky teenager stuck in a 40-something body. And I can only copy morse code at about 12 WPM now. I've lost a lot of skills as I've aged.
But I do remember the night I talked to King Hussein. He was a very gracious operator.

#215...I read this!
Very much like Old Testament when the righteous girded for battle.
...and the battle belongs to the Lord....
