Naw, we'll never use these to breed...we'd have to get a rooster and they make too much racket for a neighborhood. We'll probably always have six at the most. It's almost too many, actually, because the yard gets too poopy. We keep them penned up in the summer, but I let 'em loose to run around in the winter because we don't roll around in the grass barefooted anyways. And they love it so much.
Got four eggs today...
Poop's good for the grass though, the grass-hay growers around here lay about two inches of chicken poo from the chicken farm on the pastures in early spring.
