Best. Bookstore. Ever.

At least it was circa 1978.

'Twas there I took my little pocket money to feed my Hardy Boys jones, and there I bought my first Hobbit and LotR and dreamed of Silmarils.

There were at least three above-ground levels, and two below ("the dungeon", where the old odd books slumbered).

I'd go back today if I could...if only to see how the years have treated it.

Mm...looks nice!

The best bookstore locally USED to be in Littleton, NH...I can't remember the correct name of it, 'cause we just called it Bob's bookstore, after the guy that ran it. It had just two floors - all the kids stuff was down in the basement. We got our Hardy Boys books there! And many other things, too, over the years.

But he retired and moved with the store to a place that's hard to find and now specializes mostly in first editions and collector's books - mostly deals over the internet, I think, rather than through a storefront.

I miss it. *snif*
