Well, try to avoid it as long as you can! It's Friday night!

(Do you sense a pattern to my mood yet?)

BTW, I'd stick with sentimental rather than expensive with the anniversary gift. Do you remember the first gift you got her? Or a memento of your first date?

I know that's what I'd prefer anyway. When I see too much money spent on a gift for me, I fret over it.

Heh...depends on which time we were dating. We dated and broke up in college, then were off and on again for the next 6 years...

I got another email today, this time from one of g'nad's buddies in Bagdhad. Here it is, with minor redactions:

---------------------------

Hey Rick,

Don't know for sure about Col. J keeping one, but would imagine so. The people I watched him give them to, as well as the ones I've presented, are always quite grateful about getting them. I've been telling people that the knives are provided by some great Americans back in the states that appreciate what we're doing over here. I usually suggest that they can find out more about you guys by looking at the website emblazoned on the blade. Not sure if any of them have jotted you and email yet, but wouldn't be surprised.

And, yes, his callsign is "Gangster". Another little tidbit, he is highly positioned in the Sherriff's department in [redacted]. He mentioned in a side conversation knowing judges, etc. He was a great guy to go to war with, and no doubt a strong leader back there in the real world as well.

Hey, I think I'll attach a photo of one of your knives here in Baghdad. The background is known as the "Perfume Palace", because it's reminiscent of the fancy perfume bottles used in the Middle East.

Thanks again Rick. Looking forward to the next box.

Regards, ~~String
