Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I only need one VCR, g'nad! The videocam plays as the VCR records, so we can tape a copy on any blank VHS cassette.
And you'll have to do a repeat performance of your ballad though, since the copy I have has me shushing Becky out loud halfway through it. *chagrined expression*

Same here. It's fast approaching midnight and I'd like to recapture the experience of a full night's sleep without my kids in the bed kicking me! *grin*
Good night Hobbit Hole!

But damn... the couple of places the LOTR that are guaranteed to make me tear up are the part where Theoden runs down the line of horsemen slapping his sword on the line of pikes. "Ride! Ride now! Ride for ruin! And a red dawn!!!" I'm pretty much gone at that point. That one gets me every time, too. Aragorn's is good, but Theoden's still sends a shiver down my spine every time I view it.

I've almost emptied my big bookcase...now I've got 5 more to go. Books are heavy!
I've moved the compost but I haven't started on the plants yet.
And my monitor came yesterday only it's sitting in the apartement office. I'll have to wait until they open to get it.

Good Morning All - clear, upper 40's heading to 70, very nice for November.
Raking leaves is one thing, raking other people's leaves that fall in our yard is quite another. Our post oak keeps its leaves till spring, we appreciate that. The black locust ones are small but the neighbors have HUGH silver maples and sweetgums, glad the dang sweetgum balls stay in their yard.
Gypsy-girl has been walked and we've been coffeed and breakfasted. Should be heading out for Move Moot shortly.
