OK, I'm sleepy and shivery and getting stupid 'cause I'm so tired, so I'm gonna log off for the night. Goodnight Hole!
Real Men Love Bush.
why, yes... yes we do... whassat?... you meant ... nevermind...
I knew it!
You have:
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
But if I recall correctly it should be:
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though I oft have passed them by,
The day may come at last when I
Take the hidden paths that run
East of the Moon, west of the Sun.
*blushes*
that was so obvious...NICE pic!! :D
I need to go to bed!
but that's the fun part...
I got RoseBear's msg about the NaNoWriMo...I am bailing out this time...would like to focus on the graphic novel thing.
Maybe now that the election is overwith and I can breath a genuine sigh of relief, I can finally quit myself of the habit of going immediately to the forum boards for news listings...maybe I can finally relax and enjoy writing...
Nah...probably not...but am gonna try anyway....
The version we have appears in the beginning of the story... Chapter 3.
Your version appears at the end of the book, at the Grey Havens:
It was evening, and the stars were glimmering in the eastern sky as they passed the ruined oak and turned and went on down the hill between the hazel-thickets. Sam was silent, deep in his memories. Presently he became aware that Frodo was singing softly to himself, singing the old walking-song, but the words were not quite the same.
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate;
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the hidden paths that run
West of the Moon, East of the Sun.And as if in answer, from down below, coming up the road out of the valley, voices sang:
A! Elbereth Gilthoniel!
silivren penna míriel
o menel aglar elenath,
Gilthoniel, A! Elbereth!
We still remember, we who dwell
In this far land beneath the trees
The starlight on the Western Seas.
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!
Right behind you, sis. I'm exhausted.
Sleep well, Hobbit Hole!
Uh, no. I bash Boromir with the best of 'em. I'd fight Rosie for Faramir if she didn't have to just be content with Sam...
:)
Howdy all :)
S'ok...as long as everyone remembers I get the Took!
You are welcome to them both, thank'ee!
SVC Btry, 3/8th FAR, 18th FA Bde, XVIII Abn Corps.
From Rafha, past An Nasiriyah, to a FLID site NW of Basra; then the long march back to Khobar.
Eeeevenin' evellybody... [sip]
yikes... I'm late. Anybody home? nice new digs you got here...
Beats the way I used to spend the day after election.
I had too many years of losing campaigns and trying to rewrite my resume the day after with a HUGH hangover...
oh, I should *so* not read back up to find low-hanging fruit like this.
