Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Holey moley... woulda' loved to have been a fly on the wall in that room. Noble, Sharif, O'Toole... and a couple fifths of bourbon... good times to be had by all.
I've always liked Omar.

You, my friend, are actually quite a good writer.... but we have some of your writing about why you started with the knives posted at the .net site, and I can perhaps plagiarize from that if you don't want to write something new.
I'd be happy to post the thread, I just don't know if I would bring much else to the table save encouragement for you to go forward! I know there are other common friends with the Foxhole group, like PE, who might bring some folk in that would have no reason to respond to me... And others like 2J who would be able to bring enthusiasm and some additional supporters she can ping. I'll try to write it and post it, you guys ping and recruit for it (and I will too) at first while it gets going - how bout that?

Yeah - I'd think with three guys who probably wouldn't argue over money, it probably was about sex, religion or politics....

I would think that you don' gotta be Kreskin to figure that the argument was probably about U.S. politics. I don't see them goin' to blows over the usefulness of viagra, or the merits of Calvinism. :-)

Sheesh... scientists. :-)
We don't discover anything, we just point to things and give them names.
