They think "dated" videos of Bin Laden (videos that mention specific dates or events, so that you can narrow down when the video was taped) serve as a signal of some sort. This is as opposed to videos that don't mention a specific date or event, and could have been taped at almost any time.

Just how 'dated' is this video? All I heard was that there was a reference to the 9-11 Commission, as well as the 1,000+ deaths.
Truth is, either are predictable, and UBL could have had several tapes ready for this occasion - one mentioning 1,000 deaths, and one not mentioning it.
I'm certain that the tape is legit and that he is alive, don't get me wrong. But does anyone know what specifically 'dates' the UBL video?
