I appologize for the disjointed nature of this post, but I am entering as I find the applicable sites. Since John Kerry was born on 10 June 1953, and he was five or six when he watched his father learning math on TV...

Looking at PBS affiliate websites: at the time Sen. Edwards was five or six years old, what was to become SCETV was just organizing and appeared to be a closed circuit educational network.

Another nearby PBS station (WTVI) from Charlotte, NC did not even exist.

The local NBC affiliate did not exist.

Neither did the ABC affiliate (WOLO). He was eight years old though when the station launched.

A CBS affiliate did exist, however. (WSPA)

So did another affiliate (then WNOK, now WLTX)
