The Hobbit Hole XVI - Still round the corner there may wait...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Still round the corner there may wait...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

hehe...well, they are supposed to be for Joshua...

But MaltoMeal started making that cheap capt. crunch type cereal and I can't help it, OT...I just scarf that stuff down. I buy HUGH bags of it.

I'm gonna get some and send it to the troops someday...

She doesn't like albacore. And for some reason she scarfs down cat-grade salmon but won't touch the human-gade stuff.

Which version do you have?

Well...it's actually my brother's, but I kinda have it on permaborrow...

It's the original BBC radio play, on CDs.

I love cats. I'd get one if I weren't so lazy and would clean up the fur...I just know I wouldn't do it.

I am bound to get a poodle...I really loved my mom's. They don't shed at all.

Evenin' evellybody. [sip]

I dunno if I'm gonna watch the debate or not. Seems like the crowd here is watching baseball playoffs.

I'm not actually all that interested in it. Maybe I'll catch the replay tonight if something interesting happens.

Do you have any work you're gonna do on it? Like painting? I'm thinking I could come help you paint or something...

The jedis are gonna be upset though...they liked ya! They'll want to come.

Matthew's been reading about Jay Hawk Helicopters...really is fascinating!

yah... I'm pretty sure that the jayhawk is zactly the same as the blackhawk, only prettier colors. :-)

You're right...it's in his Black Hawk book he checked out from the library...amazing little book, even I'm enjoying it. But it's totally geared for the young reader...amazing I could find it.

It's required reading before Friday, when we tour the Army National Guard.

I know you probably haven't figured it out yet, but I'm so proud of my boys. They are so excited and "in" to the black hawk field trip. They could be totally not interested, but instead they talk about it more than Star Wars for a change.

I love 'em so much.

Did baseball win?

I am feeling pretty lackadaisical about the debate... Been there, heard that.

They're repeating a lot, aren't they?

I'm listening anyway.

You're really not missing much. They are saying the same things as they said in the previous two. I think 3 90-minute debates is a bit of overkill.

Heh, Dubya just had a good line. "A plan is not a litany of complaints."
