I spent a fair amount of time between Gonaives and San Marc....both on the "upper jaw of Haiti's gator head" shape.
It's actually tiny and very packed....maybe about the size of Manhattan south of Canal St...the flood waters came from hills and mts. to the east and north....in some cases, a good distance.
