The DNC was awfully quick to come out with an AD showing excerpts of the Dan Rather slander piece on 60Min2. In it, they used the Creedence Clearwater Revival song "Fortunate Son." Granted, with all the money in this election, they MIGHT have been able to glum the ad together quickly, but I'm not sure how long it takes to negotiate song rights with ASCAP or whoever handles the rights to the CCR song. Also, granted, John Fogerty is an active Kerry supporter, performing at fund raising benefits, so it is not an issue of the royality payment, which perhaps could have been waived, but an issue of the TIMING. I believe the licensing agency would be responsible for keeping very accurate records for all such transactions, though it's doubtful whether this information would be made public.
If anyone has contacts in the industry and can establish a time line proving that the DNC applied for rights to use the song in their AD before the CBS slanderfest aired, somebody over at the Kerry campaign will have a whole lot of fancy footwork to do.
BINGO!
NAWWWW, it's only young people downloading music that pisses off the "Industry"
Robin Rather---Dan's daughter-- works for the DNC! Dan even held a big fund raiser for the DNC. Can there be any doubt that he is a partisan operative? HE IS A DNC OPERATIVE...just like Katie Couric over on NBC.
Now, the MSM had a field day, covering the fact that one of the Bush attorneys also gave the Swift boat Vets legal advice. It was reported all over the news! Yet, CNN reporters went to work for the Kerry campaign and CBS and NBC are all intermingled with the DNC and "moveon.org" and no one reports it?! Geez.
The DNC, the Kerry Campaign and CBS all worked out a media blitz on this "fortunate son" theme; hoping to discredit the President. It is obvious that they all worked together on it. First the report aired, Kerrry gives a speech with the theme, Carvelle and Begallia all go on the talk show circuit saying Bush was a "liar" who held back these documents; and the DNC comes out with a themeatic advertisment. Coincidence? NO WAY!
Carl Cameron, reported yesterday, that reporters following Kerry had been told for MONTHS about the CBS report! Now, how did they know, if they were not in on it? How would a campaign know about a media report on their opponent?
I hope someone in the media got the Kerry people on tape, telling them about this report.
I am praying that the Dems will finally be "outed" for their lies and slandering ways; as well as their illegal activities!
Marty, thanks for your comments. All of what you say is reasonable and believable by anyone who is enlightened. However, a dog needs his nose rubbed in poo before he catches on that the living room ain't the place to make his business. If someone knows how to get ASCAP's transaction info, or if it's something a legal beagle could acquire via FOI, then Bush would truly be the Fortunate Son.
Are we sure about the gender there?
They probably got a verbal OK, or assumed they could get one.
Ads, however take some planning. You don't plan an expensive ad campaing and put the ad together overnight.
Said it on the 18th, that the forged memos were groundwork for the 'fortunate son' ads.
Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe said the accusations were based on documents uncovered by the Associated Press and Boston Globe, not the disputed memos shown on 60 Minutes.
But then Terry had to open his mouth to say that...which is a sure clue he just might be lying.
Well, things seem to be humming right along, on schedule for the clintons, don't they? They have all their people in place, and the stage is getting set for a resignation at the Kerry/Edwards Campaign...and a Hillary "save". Now is the time! Ol "Lucy Ramirez" has lots, and lots of documents, as we all know!
