Electrolyte imbalance does cause tie ups. But I don't think that was the problem. It looked more like a gut cramp. I've seen tie ups before and that's not how Rocky looked, unless his was just a very very mild one. The tie ups I've seen, the muscles stood out rigid on hips and shoulders, Rocky only had one spot, left flank area. I still think he could have pulled something on that slip.

We gave him some karo syrup to replace potassium if it was an imbalance. But even after the cramp was gone he was sore to the touch in that spot.

Well, I hope he's right again soon. It'd be a lot easier if they could explain to us what's wrong, where it hurts, and when it's better. As it is, they may try to work through pain, and we only notice it when they stop giving their all. It's punishing to be stoic.
