Thread III: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/1311311/posts |

Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
A few of us thought it would be interesting and informative to have a chat thread where we can share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the last thread we had a great time and were a great help to each other working through lessons and training, horse lamenesses and illnesses, questions and challenges and always just our stories we like to tell.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the last thread, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.
1. Lightning
2. Sugar
3. Our basset hounds, Sassy Pie and Jessie MAy
Sorry forgot to include this again!
Cool, beautiful paint. Look at the ears on the pups :)
Those are good pictures. I really like the ones of lightening. My mare has white on her right flank that looks like a bolt. I started to name her lightening or thunder but I didn't want to give her any ideas:')
AWWW you dogs are so cute.
He was named Lightning by my then 4 year old son who witnessed Misty and Lightning getting fresh, and he called him Lightning because of his lightning bolt! LOL
I used to have a beagle. I loved that dog:')
Oh, there's two f's in the word "off". My mistake.
These dogs are sweethearts. Are they bassetts?
The dogs are Basset Hounds. Baxter was born December 25th 2003 and the girls were born in January. We are going to breed them early next year. They are all AKC registered and wonderful temperments. However, we do not let them have free reign with our chickens like we do our Australian Shepherd!
Yes, they are bassetts, in every way! They've got the ears to proove it, too.
They look like they enjoy life to the fullest extend. You could swear they are laughing in the picture.
oops - extent
...happens to the best of us. ;^]
Doesn't it though. I think my brain disengaged when I left work today.
My fingers just don't work at the speed my brain thinks they do. Something to do with age, I suspect.
Oh I hope it's not age that causes this - :) Age and lack of good sense just caused me to agree to edit and publish a newsletter for a new horsemen's association last week. I hate to think my typing is going to go south now along with my good sense.
Can she see the other mare from where she is?
Good luck with the newsletter. I published an e-zine a while back (GrassrootsRepublican.com if anyone remembers it), and it was a lot of fun, as well as a lot of work.
Yes, I remember it. I'm hoping it's going to be fun, right now there seem to be a lot more chiefs than indians but I expect things will work themselves out.
