SAVAGE VERSUS O'REILLY/ WHO WINS?

Posted on 09/17/2004 8:34:24 PM PDT by HundredPercenter

If anyone listened to Savage tonite, you know that he took his gloves off with O'reilly. It's true that Savage pretty much hates the world and says what most are afraid to even think about, but can he beat the great Blowhard in a real debate?

I am 100% sure this will blow up next week. We will probably see Mike on the factor soon.

Light really does travel faster than sound. That's why O'Reilly appears bright until you hear him speak. I've noticed a bit of change in his tone recently, maybe he found Jesus again and is changing his ways. We'll see.

If that happens (which I doubt), don't expect any fireworks. They'll probably kiss and make up.

I like to see O'Reilly and Savage duke it out with each other.

"I feel he grasps the full extent of the left and their designs for us better than any other commentator"

That may well be true about Savage that he sees the threat of the left. However, my perception of him is that if you don't agree with him on every point, he thinks you are to the left. I often listen to him when driving home after working late at night. I have heard him trash President Bush too many times. G.W. Bush is probably the most trully conservative president of the last 50 years (even more than President Reagan) - and Savage berates him.

The man has no sense of expediency, necessary compromise, and pragmatism. He is too much a purest to be of any practical good.

Not sure about that. Last time I saw Savage on T.V. was on a CNBC interview with Donnie Deutch. Savage absolutely shredded him. It was really tense and Mike made it seem as if he wanted a fist fight, lol.

My guess is Savage would use his excellent coomand of the english language to make O'reilly look small.

What exactly did Savage say tonight?

I dunno -- it's like deciding who's the biggest NFL loudmouth, Terrell Owens or Warren Sapp! Both have delusions of grandeur. I would give the edge to Savage, though, because he's more easily avoided by me.

Savage wins hands down. I've seen him on tv in debates and he rose well above my expectations. O'Reilly on the other hand couldn't even handle Michael Moore very well. I wish Savage had that opportunity, it would have been much more entertaining.

Savage would tear him apart, and leave him quacking.

I used to like O'really, (pun intended...) but he has lost steam, and seems to be in love with his voice.

I hate both Savage and O'Reilly.

Michael Savage is really Michael Weiner....as in "whiner." SO fitting a name for him.
He hates himself. He makes his living being enraged and screaming in a microphone. Savage is a New York phenom who has been screaming his way through life. He looks it too. Saw his live show once (2000 summer). What an enormous waste of time and money.

O'Reilly has the top news analysis show on the boob tube and has a worldwide audience.
The proof is in the pudding.

I don't like either one of them. Can't hate them. They are what they are.
One is a waste of time. The other has some very interesting guests on his show.

Hi Northern Yankee,

I agree with you about O'Reilly (by the way, I like your pun). The man is such a megalomaniac that I just can't watch him any more, especially after what he did to the Swift Vets, his interview with Moore, and the best one was when he said he's still undecided about who to vote for.

He said he's still undecided about who to vote for?

Really?!

What a weenie... How can he be undecided at this point?

He must be playing is part to get invited to all the "right" parties. That is revolting.

He lost me a while back when he became critical of Mel's move, The Passion. As a Catholic, knowing he's Catholic, I found his view absurd, and sad.

O'reilly is less irrational than Savage. So even if Savage wins a debate, he's still a moron.
