Maybe they were created by that 20-something website whiz working for Kerry who also does the moveon.org stuff - his name escapes me at the moment. I should think that if CBS was told by their source these are authentic documents, and they have proven to be fakes, the network has no obligation to honor any agreement not to reveal the source, who committed a fraud. Of course, that assumes CBS is innocent. Considering Dan Rather was forcing this story down everyone's throat, I wouldn't be surprised if he knew they were phony, but he's so obsessed and irrational, he truly believed no one would notice.

Gotta run - I'm supposed to man the GOP booth at the county fair, even though the fellow who recruited me hasn't bothered to tell me where to go or where to find the materials I'm supposed to be handing out.

A more-fun question:

The commentary shows have spent HOURS blasting Bush's Guard service based on these apparently forged documents. They would certainly owe their viewers---and the president--an apology.

But the really fun question is: Would they have to re-evaluate all the miles of footage they've spent skewering Bush for the "16 words in his State of the Union speech"? Words that, according to the partisan media, were based on ---gasp!--forged documents? Tee hee!
