Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Pass them by! Pass them by!
New verse:
|
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Woo-hoo! My stall is finally broken. I was down two pounds this week, after NOTHING for a long time. Three more pounds and I get a second digit change, which is always nice...it MAY be my last second digit change. We'll see. I'm only seven pounds from my original goal, but I may lower that by another five or six depending on how I feel when I get there.
In any case, now it looks like I actually make it by, say, January...instead of next summer. If things keep moving...
Oh, and I discovered a nice South Beach treat accidentally. I was really wanting chocolate, but not just chocolate (usually I just have one square of a dark chocolate bar), but something creamy, so I thought maybe I'd just have some cream cheese with some vanilla, Splenda and a few chocolate chips stirred in. But the cream cheese was hard, so I microwaved it for a second, and when I went to stir the chips in, they started melting. Hm...so I microwaved it about another ten seconds, stirred them in completely, and then chilled it. I ate it with a little spoon, and it was wonderful! Almost nougaty.

It's a Black Hawk. I recognize it.
God bless 'em, just looking at the picture makes me happy!
I wish I could remember to take the camera!

Oh, I don't want to get anyone in trouble! But it's just such a cool thing they do! I re-wrote it and put in that they actually circled my house. It sounds better, Steve liked it.
Maybe I could put a post script saying the reason it had taken me so long to get in touch with them was because I was afraid they might get in trouble for doing it and that I didn't want anyone to get in any trouble?

I see Blackhawks around here, but they are just black, and don't seem to bear an insignia. I think they are from US Customs, maybe. Cool machines, though.
Maybe if they got closer, there might turn out to be something actually written on them.
Yours is Air Force?

Congrats!!
I take a tbsp of cocoa and about a tbsp of that maltilol honey and a spoonful of peanut butter and a packet of splenda...mix it all together and warm it up in the microwave till runny, then add some oatmeal!
I couldn't have the no bake cookies, so I made this instead and ate it with a spoon.

The air is actually slightly cooler here in Miami this morning, not that it's cool exactly, but I feel a sublte difference.
Not expecting any exactly *crisp* mornings for at least 3 weeks, when I expect we might get a couple.

Pretty sure it's Army...everyone in my local military (like at church) that I've told about it always quickly says "Oh, that's the Army National Guard...from north Tulsa".
They fly straight down one of the major streets here in Tulsa that runs north to south...and I live one block off that major street.

Oh! I was going to tell you - that's the same brand as Margaret's! She loves hers. I think hers was maybe one level up, but probably comparable except that it's full sized, and they paid about seven or eight hundred dollars for it!
So...I think mrsnad is prolly right...

Mm...peanut butter and cocoa would be good, too! I've done that with just peanut butter...added splenda to a few tablespoons. That sounds pretty boring, but since I LOVE peanut butter...
I already had some today, in my oatmeal! I've really been on an oatmeal kick lately, I guess. But these cold mornings just cry out for oatmeal. ;-)

Mornin'...
'Nuther beautiful day here. In the 50s, but s'posed to get up to the 70s. Weather goober said sun on Tuesday and Wednesday with temps to the 80s. Surely it's a sign of the end times.
Fitness dwarf didn't make it this a.m. Woke up around midnite-ish with a toothache. After Motrin and Orajel got back to sleep around an hour later. Sigh...and I got two more weeks of this (assuming the kidney sells and I can afford the root canal). But I just asked the dentist to call in the antibiotic prescription (that I lost). So that should help.
Sam/Ruthy...Lisa...~sigh~
Lil' - if'n yer goin' to IKEA, pick us up a couple of sets of them castle type curtains in children's textiles. They was out when we were there. And even tho they ~said~ they were available online, once I ordered 'em I got a message sayin' they ain't....grrr...
Gots a bored meeting today. Gonna have to duck out in a few minutes...expect me when you see 2J...
Oh, and mornin' g'nad...
