As soon as I saw the words "chat view", I went immediately to my Yahoo FR Hobbit Hole page, logged in with my Yahoo username (not ExGeeEye) and went to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FR_Hobbit_Hole/chat
The page says I'm a group member. The "Chat" page is mostly blank where I would expect to find the "chat stuff".
Whaddaya think?

Do you mean it was "mostly blank" in that the chat stuff didn't load for you?
Maybe I misunderstood.
Can you usually do Java stuff? Are you in IE? There is a place in Tools-Internet Options where you can turn Java on or off. have you ever messed with that?
