FORT WORTH - Narcotics officers seized thousands of Ecstasy pills Monday night that were intended for sale in a Dallas club district, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

Narcotics officers received a tip that a large quantity of Ecstasy would be picked up Monday from an Arlington residence, police reports state. Officers watched the residence and followed three people who left in different cars but stayed together.

On Southwest Loop 820, police stopped two of the cars for making unsafe lane changes and the third for not having a front license tag, reports state.

Inside the cars, they found plastic bags containing about 5,000 pink Ecstasy pills and also found a loaded handgun, brass knuckles and more than $6,000, police reports state.

Narcotics investigators believe that the pills were going to be sold in the Deep Ellum district in Dallas, police spokesman Lt. Abdul Pridgen said.

It was the department's largest Ecstasy seizure, he said.

"When we do see this drug, we usually see it in small amounts," Pridgen said. "It's rare to see this much of it at once."

Police arrested Tam Thanh Vo, 33, of Keller, Dustin Nguyen, 24, of Carrollton and Kim Huynh, 24, of Arlington, according to police records.

Vo was in the Mansfield Jail on Tuesday night on $50,000 bail, according to a jail official. Nguyen and Huynh were released Tuesday afternoon.

Ecstasy is a synthetic, psychoactive drug chemically similar to the stimulant methamphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse.

Ecstasy is most popular in the 12-24 age group, Pridgen said.

"We don't know in the grand scheme of things how much of an impact it will have, but we got a lot of Ecstasy off the street," he said.

And they arrested the third for not having a front license tag.

Just so ya know, you are required by state law to have the tag on the front also.

OK. I had one put on the front of my car last week. They will stop you for that around here.
Its a good reason for the police to stop a car that may be doing something else if that makes any sense.LOL

similar to the stimulant methamphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline,

Now the rainman gave me two cures,

Then he said, "Jump right in."

The one was Texas medicine,

The other was just railroad gin.

And like a fool I mixed them

And it strangled up my mind,

And now people just get uglier

And I have no sense of time.

Yes I got stopped by a DWiG cop for that. Arlington doesn't enforce it, unless as you say, they are looking for a reason to pull you over.
