How 'bout just a motion-sensor floodlight?
Mom's got one on the side of the house...if I was up to no good and that thing came on, my first impulse would be to beat a hasty retreat...OTOH, if it just comes on because of a bird or a gopher, then at least it doesn't make noise.

How 'bout just a motion-sensor floodlight?I thought about that... It's way out in the pasture, but with some extension cords it'd work. It's way our of range of the hose. (for the motion sensor deer-sprinkler idea LF mentioned)
