Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Hill and water under sky
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well, whoever he is, he says he's usually a liberal but this GWoT has got him supporting Bush.
Hope that's contagious.

Who is Ron Silver?Ron Silver: fairly liberal actor, who has been a vocal supporter of G.W. post-9/11.
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
I've been trying to follow the live thread... it would appear that Silver really gave a great speech. I hope there is someplace I can catch it later.

CSPAN will probably replay it... they replay everything.
Tennessee-7, Dallas-3, 2nd quarter... Dallas just blocked a field goal attempt by Tennessee.
To: Lil'freeper
I do believe you're right, LF. Too much talking on FOX!

I don't have the patience for live threads (tons of people saying the same thing at the same time), and I don't have TV...if anyone knows of somewhere where all this will be archived or transcribed, let me know!
I'm sure I'll at least see portions of it in articles over the next few days, and for the most part, that should be enough.

CSPAN at least should have a webcast of the convention, if you wanted to watch it.
To: RosieCotton
I'm not a big fan of the live threads either, Rosie.
I just wait for the transcriptions to come out and then read the responses from there. The folks that saw it live will chime in with interesting tidbits now and again.

I like 'em for silly stuff...like I always hang out there for Oscars and such if I'm not otherwise occupied. But...for news conferences and the like, they drive me crazy.

Yep, that's my usual MO. Once in awhile I'll find a live cast, but even that takes more attention than I usually wanna give - I'd rather just glean the important stuff later!
