I like the look of the spray kind.... I wonder if it would hold up, or chip and scratch when you are chucking firewood into it.
I have the drop in kind in mine. Dad has no liner, He cuts plywood to fit the floor of the bed and replaces it every few years...

My dad's got the spray in, I've been quite impressed with how well it has help up to hard use, lumber, equipment, gravel, cedar stumps and the like.
I just had a cut chunk of plywood for ol' Buck, but there wasn't much point in protecting him.

I'm not likely to be hauling firewood...not until somebody gives me an extra $3,000 to fix our chimney anyway.
The sales person at the truck toy store said the spray in was pretty durable. Bus she also mentioned "touch up" or repair. She was thinking if I'm going to have it for a while I should do the spray in. And that's what the dealer was recommending too.
I gotta do something. I've already dinged the wheel well. Had a propane tank that wasn't secured. I pulled out of the parking lot and it went rolling across...sigh...at least it's not visible from the outside.
Spray in is a little more spendy.

Just about everyone else in this town ~is~ a city slick-faker. I actually got a truck because I have use for one.
But I would've preferred to wait a few more weeks for the first ding.
