The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

hehehe... yes they do...

When I left the CG I made a few promises to myself:

1. I will not stand in line for food ever again.
2. The next boat I paint will belong to me, and it will not be puke green on the inside.
3. I will not get out of bed before daylight unless I'm going fishing.

:-)

I'm trying desperately to be generous.

You know what makes it even worse?

Tomorrow is a semi-monthly payroll processing day. I've got a ton of payrolls to do and half my day will be wasted sitting in semi-consciousness during a training. Which means that I'll have to skip lunch and really hustle if I plan to get out of there by 5:30pm.

Whoever planned this thing needs severe punishment.

Do you know of any good software for capturing the video?

Hmmm, no, I don't. I went with a hardware solution: Hauppauge WinTV-PVR 250. It includes its own software.

IIRC, you have an ATI card? Does ATI recommend any software for video capture?

Hmmm, could it be you've never seen the movie The Naked Gun? It's a good one, by the same people who made Airplane!

You can do this? We've been meaning to transfer the wedding and the airplane departure tapes to DVD-compatible.... and if possible to a web-postable format so we could post them for friends and family to see! each are only a few minutes long.

Is the puke green supposed to...um...do something? Make the experience better somehow?

*grin* That would definitely leave a mark, but it would be on the wrong person.

Namely....ME!!

Sure, it depends on the videotape format, though. I can play ordinary VHS tapes and create MPEG files... 8mm tapes are iffy, though. We have an analog video camera that handles 8mm tapes, but if the tapes are digital I don't think we can play them.

Gosh, Bear, that would be super.... We'd sure pay you to do this for us! I wasn't sure how to look into doing it... Been putting it off.

Nope. It's just sprinkling a little and blowing a little. The weather weenies have the bad weather south and west of me. The sky is kinda orangey-gray with a patch of clear sky just to the west....thunder in the distance.
