Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
I noticed that the first American rider in the dressage today was riding a fine tall sturdy mare. The first Spanish guy was riding a smaller horse with thoroughbred-thin legs who was getting very tired at the end.
Prissy horse dancing ... and, as the morning wore on, you should have seen the lather ...!
You have a very blessed life, I hope you know!
Having horses, working from home (for the most part) and a lovely place to live. And, of course, ecurbh! *laughing*
I certainly hope that Becky and Alyson get to enjoy equestrian activities when they get older. I always wished for that when I was growing up, but it never worked out. That way, I can live vicariously through them!
;-)
Goodnight, folks.
Oh I did watch all of it, we had taped it, since it ran live here at 2-4 am.
It was a good variety of types and a wide variance in performance. It was real good to watch.
My favorites are the hotbloods, like the Spanish horse that the commentator couldn't say anything nice about. He was workin' the whole time, and he was puffin, but I liked his style.
Sleep well, XGI!
Thanks Ruthy!
You aren't exactly too old to get on a horse yourself, you know ;~D
With my complete lack of experience, I'd need to find an actual old gray mare to ride! I think any other horse may feel offended at having to teach a greenhorn! :-)
Nonsense. Bay enjoyed ecurbh learning to ride very much...
As did ecurbh. ;~D
I saw the way Bayman looked at me. It was the type of look that said...
"Listen lady, I ~really~ like you, especially when you bring me carrots, but PLEASE spare me from having to teach you how to stay on my back! Lookit the pony over there. She never has to deal with anything, so let her deal with ya, OK?"
~shakes head~
I know. I'm teasing.
Riding lessons are a perfectly fine excuse to fly to Washington, IMHO.
This is him in the backyard of the mansion, sporting his new medal.
Here he is in the front. Recognize the house yet?
Here is a close up of his medal.
~smiles~ indeed!
Pretty cool!
I don't recognize the house.... 'spose I should?
Did he get to play with John Ross?
hmmm, I don't get it. When I post it, I get the broken link. BUT when I go there, it's okay. Here is the link to the backyard picture:

I can't see the first pic, but I don't think I'd recognize the house anyway. *smiles*
