Eleventh Thread: Wedding Edition: The Hobbit Hole XI - No One Admitted Except on Wedding Business!
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
LOL! You know what's really sad is, they redid the plot of this movie in "Jaws 4: The Revenge". . .
Worst pickup line ever:
"You're reading to the whale?"
Hey, it's the Indian guy from the commercial where he was crying about pollution. . .
Hi there! It's especially cheesy... since I'm not sure there's ever been a documented case of an orca attacking a person. Maybe, but we're basically not on their menu.
I remember something about an attack somewhere, maybe Alaska, but it was pretty much figured to be a case of mistaken identity. Whale thought the guy was a seal or something. Went phtuooee and spit him back. Catch and release. Didn't seem to like the gore-tex wrapper.
Nite folks. I'm working on a mailing for the pool and there's nothing on TV, so I'm gonna put a movie in the 'puter.
Not one of them long ones tho. I gotta get Jr. to football practice by 7:30 a.m. and then I'm heading down to North Carolina. I'll be back late tomorrow night.
Technically tomorrow is "the" day to finish cleaning out Nana's house. I suspect it'll be the Missus, one brother-in-law and me. I doubt anyone else will show. (they were supposed to do this months ago).
I've got trash bags...and a truck...
G'night!
Attacks are very rare, but there have been some cases. Mostly though I think the producers were trying to come up with a big marine animal to capitalize on "Jaws" :) "The Deep" and "Pirahna" also came out about the same time--not to mention "Jaws 2", which is on next. . .
Each player chooses an Illuminati to play and makes up their own deck. There are two basic types of cards, "Groups" and "Plots". The basic goal for each Illuminati is to be the first to control 12 groups. However, each Illuminati has a unique special goal that they can also use to win; also, Plot cards can be used to create other winning goals, or modify requirements for a existing goal.
So, players try to control their own groups, while trying to prevent other players from doing the same. Prevention usually takes the form of destroying or capturing opposing player's groups. Of course, a player also has to defend against the same from other players...
So how do you keep track of who's ahead then--do you like acquire cards or something?
Well, I just lived through something MUCH worse than killer marine animals.
Alyson decided to fingerpaint with poop tonight....oh yes, fingerpaint. She painted all over her body, including her face and hair...as well as her crib, sheets, blankets, etc.
I just spent the last half hour cleaning it all up and bathing her again. That was far more frightening to me than facing off with sharks, that's for sure! *laughing*
And to think I had just walked in there to tuck her in because she had been so quiet, I thought she'd finally fallen asleep!
I'm told I did that once when I was little, but I only drew on the walls. . .
Oh, yeah... each player's cards are arranged on the table in what's called a "power structure", starting with their Illuminati. The Illuminati and each Group have one or more outward-pointing "control arrows", which indicate how many Groups each can control. So everyone can see what Groups each player has, and how close they are to winning. Plot cards stay hidden though... so you never know when a player may reveal a hidden Plot for a sudden win.
See here for a sample of some INWO cards.
Dang...
Yahknow... there's something to be said for a baby's room that is all tile, and has a drain in the floor. :-)
hehehehehe...I think all kids do it at least once. She was so mad when I ended the game though. It was sort of funny.
*cracking up*
Poor thing! She was perfectly content sitting there amidst all that crap. Like a little Democrat. ;-)
I may sleep on the couch tonight just to avoid the possibility of facing that one day.
But seriously, here ya go.
Cool! I need to try that! Looking at that is actually giving me some ideas for some card games. I've tried designing board games before but just now realize as I'm looking at those cards what you can do with cards without a board. Vey interesting. . .
