"Hello! Thank you for calling the Lazy E. My name is Rose. My ID number is 54321. May I have your express service code or service tag number, please?"
That's nice you're able to recuperate by hanging out with your best friends! :) Good idea on trying to make hubby feel welcome. What type of stuff are you studying?
Hi, Rose! How you doing this evening? We missed you on a Heinlein discussion the other day. I was shocked to learn that Bear hasn't read "Puppet Masters" :)
Goodnight you two. :-)
Hey Rose, I forgot to tell ya I made that run down Spicewood Springs Road the other day in my pickup just to refresh my memory. :-)
MySQL is a database software, and PHP is an internet scripting language (much like ASP or Perl). They work well together for creating dynamic webpages based on database queries. For example, the Hobbit Hole forum uses PHP and MySQL, so each time you view a page, it queries the database for the appropriate information (posts, polls, user data, etc) and creates the webpage that is displayed.
Only done a couple of site so far, and nothing nearly as complex as that forum... yet. One is a commercial site that sells used industrial equipment. Had to create capability for searching and browsing the inventory , email inquiry forms, and storage of customer data, as well as an administrative interface for adding and editing items in the inventory.
The latest project is a company intranet where empoyees can report and view quality assurance reports, and managers can post announcements and documents and such.
I'm still fairly new to all this, but am picking it up fairly quickly. Learning more with each project.
Well I am fading fast, so I'm heading to the couch for real now. Good night!
Okay, that gives me an idea of what that would be used for. Too bad I didn't know you when we were setting up our company's website, sounds like we could've used that, LOL! I'll make sure to keep that in mind in case I come across anything that sounds like it's up your alley.
Well, my best friend put me in touch with the Rabbi of a congregation of Messianic Jews in Dallas. He also was born in Israel and he is talking me through some of the differences between western view and the Israeli/Jewish views of both the Old and New Covenants. Tonight his message to me was on the Jewishness of Yeshua/Jesus and Rav Shaul/Paul. This is all fascinating to me.
A lot of the information I am receiving is just his answers to my personal questions. It is opening up whole new vistas to me of the Word! This guy is just precious to be sharing with me the way he is and he is very deeply caring for the situation with the kids. He's a God-send right now!
understood...
bring the M-1 Carbine and the '03... they're just good solid guns...
Hi g'nad!
May need an axe here soon ya know.
at your service dear lady... however, I'm being beckoned...
in other werds, just tell me who needs dead, and it'll happen...
g'nite darlin'...
Goodnight g'nad.
I'm thinkin' Myranda's dad and his wife are needin' something. They hit my daughter. I'll take care of her if you'll take care of him....
.... have a good evening! Talk to ya when I can get back again. :-)
Hopefully that will help you in making Myranda's hubby feel welcome. I'm sure he will appreciate you going the extra mile for him like that.
Heh.... I've just got too much time on my hands maybe. :-)
Anyway, this information is interesting so it's keeping my mind occupied.
Oddly enough, I am getting into all this new stuff only 3 months after I got out of the biker ministry I've been in for almost 15 years. I'm wondering where all this is going. I am out of ministry, and yet all involved in a whole new study.
What are your thoughts on where it's going? Maybe it means God wants you to study the OT more? For me as a Christian there are certain areas of OT study I find very applicable. On the theoretical side I get a lot out of esp. contemplating Genesis and its usage in the NT. On the practical and emotional side I find myself turning to Proverbs and Psalms often for practical advice and emotional comfort.
You have FReepmail ...!
Guess that's why I mentioned that. I don't have a clue where it's going. I've really been seeking God for about a year and a half now about direction. I have felt that I was out of touch in the biker ministry for 2 or 3 years. Demographics changed in that ministry and the target group has changed too much for me.
My personal study always seemed like it was driven by the ministry. Because I have been out of touch in ministry I have not felt I was really getting my teeth into any realm of study.
I have always been very immersed in OT study. Joshua, Judges, Samuel 1&2 especially. I love Isaiah. Those books have really been meaty for the type of ministry I've done.
I'm like you about Psalms and Proverbs though. Personal comfort for me there. And also, a lot of useful text for the comfort of those to whom I have ministered.
It has been a good familiar feeling this week to have my teeth into new Word study.... but I'm still feeling lost as to my place in the scheme of God's plan. That has what's got me to wondering if this study has only to do with my son-in-law or if there are further implecations coming as to some kind of new direction in ministry for me.
Really, I've been tired, burnt out, in ministry. I don't like it. And I don't like to admit it. But, I am. And I don't know where to go from here. Frankly, I'd like to enjoy life again for a bit. Not be so driven in ministry as I have for several years.
For some reason when I read "Lazy E" I feel like it should be the name of a rap group from the late 80s :)
