New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |
Still round the corner there may wait |
Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Ahh... now I feel much better. :-)
And here I was being good and not spamming! Serves me right. . .
Old age and treachery beats youth and inexperience every time. :-)
It wasn't inexperience, just misguided altruism, LOL!
Same thing. LOL...
Hell... liberalism is misguided altruism. But lets not go there. :-P
"Hell... liberalism is misguided altruism."
Hey, I didn't say I was throwing away money!--I'm not *that* altruistic, LOL!
Wouldn't it suck if we could wake each other up like that?
more coffee...
Ah, that's better.
I introduce to you Mr. J. Artley Beeber, of Lycoming County, PA, who does not appear particularly stuned.
"The First National Bank was organized, December 3, 1863, with a capital of $100,000, with the privilege of increasing it to $300,000. It was the first national bank to open in the city, and the fourth in the State. The building in which it is located was erected by Thomas Hall in 1840-42, and was first used for a hotel for a dozen or more years. It became the property of the Messrs. Doebler, who gave it the name of the United States Hotel, and under their management it became very popular and did a large business. Soon after the death of Valentine S. Doebler the building was purchased by the banking company. Abraham Updegraff was chosen president and served until his death, April 17, 1884. On the 1st of May following J. A. Beeber was chosen his successor and still fills the office. The capital stock and surplus now amount to $500,000. The present officers are: President, J. A. Beeber; cashier, W. H. Sloan; directors, J. A. Beeber, W. H. Sloan, James V. Brown, James J. Gibson, John M. Young, A. D. Hermance, E. Andrews, S. N. Williams."

And for further amusement:
Heh...I shopped at HEB during my all-too-short Texan sojourn...IIRC, the bank statement always referred to "Henry Butts"...the founder's name, but no reference to it being a grocery...
Izzit Friday yet?
I have to sit through a bored meeting this morning. Oh well. It has been a while since I've had to do that.
That's exciting to hear. I have *blech* responses to cereals with that kind of consistency- cream of wheat especially. Very childish, I know. So I haven't done much more than sprinkle it into other foods. It's vey good for you.
Oh, I almost forgot... the gentle version comes with a hug. ((FEDORA))
Yeah, you don't want to invite me to seminars and stuff. I make scenes and tend to embarass the people I'm with.
Love that little T-shirt. I should get one for my wee nephew. It would drive his bleeding-heart liberal mom nuts.
Congrats on the truck. It's purdy.
Good morning!
Switched from sore throat to congested. Which is good. I can live with this.
And it's payday...always a good thing!
What an excellent idea!
I'm reading an article about a poor man here in Tulsa that got stuck under a trash truck in his VW Beetle. They interviewed the son, last night on the news and I was so struck by the man's composure...I would have been hysterical. The son just praised the fire fighters and other rescue workers and said "All glory to God, thank you Lord Jesus." Said it right there on the news!
Here's the news article...the son is praising God in it, too!
Steve and I were very moved, I've been prayin' for the man. I'm gonna try to find him and send him a card.
Yikes! What an ordeal...
I know it!
Well, today is the first day of school...people are parked in my grass out front waiting for the school bus.
Sigh...Joshua should be up soon and I should start my day...
I'll never understand why places start school in the middle of the week. Just doesn't make sense to me!
I know it! Weird. I went just now and sat and visited with my neighbor while she waited for her son to get on the bus. That was nice, I never get to visit with her and I like the chance.
Well, joshua is up...I tossed him a granola bar to munch on till I feed Matthew. Matthew doesn't like to eat when he first gets up, unlike Joshua, who used to say "Eat, Now" upon opening his eyes when he was still sleeping in with me and could barely talk!
Have a good day! I'm off for now.
