The Hobbit Hole XIV - Hill and Water Under Sky

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Hill and water under sky

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I think our house is the only one in the neighborhood that has NEVER been hooked to cable. I have the feed line sealed against the weather and neatly coiled.

AT&T was the provider when I bought the house. I won't do business with then in any form, due to their support of Handgun Control Inc.

"I downloaded an anime version of Agatha Christie's Hercule Poirot."

That sounds kinda interesting. Let me know how it is after you watch it.

"I'm keeping an eye on Charley. We've already decided if it turns and heads towards us we're gonna take a nice trip to anywhere we can find working electricity. :-D"

Yikes! You're right in the way of that, aren't you? What's your previous hurricane experience been where you are?

Got some honey!

Pure sugar alcohol syrup. Zero net carbs.

Steve is very happy...now he can have his favorite sandwich...peanut butter and honey on sugar-free whole wheat bread.

"We read about Curious George making pancakes yesterday"

Heh, that must be one of the few Curious George stories I haven't read :) Which one is that?

"We ~never~ have hurricanes in Washington."

We never have 'em here either. Instead today we have 60 degrees in August--sigh.

Sounds like a good thing for your diet! I'd rather just have honey, though, since I'm allowed it in small amounts...

BTW, the right site for Ad-Aware is http://www.lavasoft.de . It's a good spyware removal program...we use it here. You need to install it and then have it check for updates before running it.

Try this one:

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/

There is a link to download their free version.

When you run it there is a link/button to Check for New Updates. Make sure you are connected to the internet and then click the link and the program should do its thing.
