Well, Sonya's amnio-- came back today, and "Edgar" is now out of the question for baby names.
Despite whatever smudge they were lookin' at in the ultrasound, it looks now like it'll be a girl. Probably Abigail.
Sonya thinks it was God's way of settling the "Edgar" argument.

OK then...so it's now safe for me to remark that "Edgar" is right up there with "Tobias", "Dwight", and anything that can be diminutized to "Dick" on my "never use these, except perhaps as a middle name" list.
Because while there are doubtless stellar examples of humanity named thus, that will not protect the bearer from receiving at least two schoolyard thrashings before sixth grade.
