Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Let them pass! Let them pass!
(Note to dwarves, this is only meant figuratively)
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Eh stay up later! - You're cute enough as is... *grinning at you* I'm tryin' to go to bed here, but the company is too good to miss.
Too hot here to sleep. 84 still.
That's just nasty. You guys need a wall unit at the very least! Did you use up all your wedding dough yet? Sounds like a right fine wedding gift to me!

It won't, chica. Before you know it, you'll be shivering on your front porch with your morning coffee and cig. ;-)
BTW, here's a cool little trick I learned when I was pregnant. Take a couple of towels or sheets and dampen them. Then, stick them in the freezer until they are chilled to almost frozen.
As long as they weren't dripping wet to begin with, your own body heat will dry them before they wet your mattress.
Stick them between your mattress and fitted sheet so the bed cools off and you can at least fall asleep and sleep good before the heat wakes you up again.
Since you're using box fans, I'd lay the cool sheet over the front of it so it blows cold through it.
