I'm going to try making whole wheat pizza crust one of these days. I've had that before, but never made anything other than just white bread crust.
With a bunch of veggies, it should be especially good. I love vegetable pizza. Yes, I'm odd. I'm thinking even summer squash - and lots of garlic.
You can have whole wheat eventually, right?
And if / when you can have fruit, I've found something really, really good. Wish I'd known about it years ago, and it's so simple I feel kinda dumb to not think of it - frozen grapes. You just wash 'em and freeze 'em - I measure them out into little baggies so I can just grab one as a snack. They don't get solidly hard, and are almost sorbet like. Sweet and cold and good. Especially sweet now! Only takes a few to be really satisfied.
Back later. Gots a meeting with the trolls...
(I am really NOT liking this day)
Do you remember those blueberry muffins I used to make? Now those are whole grain and I think I will make them with Splenda which will "help", but I suspect those will end up being a big-time splurge.
We gotta have 'em and they are just a seasonal thing. I don't make them unless I make them with fresh blueberries. Frozen just don't turn out that good.
When I get my teeth fixed...I'll try those frozen grapes! LOL
I'm still using more flax than whole wheat, but I have made whole wheat tortillas a few times. I wish I'd known years ago how easy those are! And so good with beans and meat, or with eggs for breakfast. I'd like to make pancakes one of these days. That should be a simple substitution. Haven't done bread...I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to stop at a slice or two!
Yeah, you have to try the grapes! Like I said, they aren't frozen hard. But they are cold...so if your teeth are currently sensitive...ouch!
LOL!! Yep...my first response was to cringe when you said they were frozen hard!
I need a root canal on one side and a cap for a broken tooth on the other. Eatting can be a bit tricky sometimes...LOL! I manage, though.
I have a sensitive tooth on one side...glad it's not both!
OK, one more rave about grapes and I'll quit...
The other thing I like about eating 'em this way is that they don't go bad! Used to be I'd almost never buy 'em even though I love 'em...because as a single gal, I'd never finish them in time. This way, I bring them home and right away freeze most, and I don't waste ANY. Way kewl.
Argh...need more coffee.
That would be a boon for a single person...
I don't have that problem, Joshua eats fruit constantly...
But they would seem to be a refreshing treat for a five year old playing in the back yard!
Good morning Hobbit Holers!
I'm feeling ~lousy~ this morning for some reason. Sore throat, dizzy and stuffy. YUCK!
Whatever it is, I hope it goes away!!
At least it's Wednesday. Thank God for that!
Good morning, Ruthy!
Sorry you aren't feeling well.
Good morning Ruthy!!
I hate to hear you're under the weather! Matthew has a bit of a cold too.
Yep, it's Wednesday...it's all downhill from here.
Morning Ruthy! Sorry you are feelin' sickly....
Who's Lola? Or do I want to know?
***Who's Lola? Or do I want to know?***
Yes, you want to know!!! It's a great story, IMO!!

The Cousins decided that next year's reunion is gonna be on a CRUISE! Most of our husbands have no desire to go on a cruise, so this way we can have a great time with all the girls! So we've all decided it will be a worthy goal for the weight loss; and most of us need to lose, cause most of us got the 'Mordica butt'!
I'll get the recipe from home. It's just whole wheat flour, olive oil, salt, and water, though. So...easy, and totally South Beach friendly. The hardest part is rolling them out thin enough! I used these in the Mexican lasagna, as well as just on their own.
I'm still amazed that this diet works. I'm eating at least as much as I ever do, but down a pound a week or so. That isn't SUPER fast, but it's been sure. Seems like cheating.
Thanks. I've got to hang in there today just to make sure I get the hours I need, you know?
I'm glad you're all here with me!
My family saw that and kind of liked it...but it doesn't resemble the book in the slightest. I haven't seen it yet.
You should read the book, though! That was a hoot. It was written by several of the kids.
Well, I just tried the pizza and it's really good...a thin-crust pizza. Would be good with burger or sausage too, I bet.
Only thing I would do different is maybe toast the flatbread a bit before adding the ingredients...it was a little floppy.
